Denture adhesives are beneficial dental products that come in the form of a paste or powder. They can be placed in or on your denture to help it stay in place throughout the day. This is a great option if your dentures tend to slide and drift.

Denture adhesives are only safe to use if you follow the directions correctly. To help you do so, we have provided the instructions to the following adhesives:

-Paste adhesive: Apply this adhesive directly to the appliance, but please do not place it close to the borders. For the upper jaw, apply three short strips to the appliance—two along the two ridges and one down the middle. For the lower jaw, apply three short strips of the adhesive in the center of the ridge area.

-Powder adhesive: Apply this adhesive on the tissue-bearing surface of the denture. Then, shake off any excess powder and put the appliance into your mouth. This option may be preferred over a paste adhesive because it is easier to clean and it doesn’t keep the denture away from the tissue.

Even though these adhesives help keep your dentures in place, it’s best to adjust your denture instead of use these products.
